Mount Dilema.
      #5825592 - 04/27/13 01:45 AM

I just bought a Nexstar SE 4/5 mount for my Vixen VMC110L.

Celestron's dovetail plates are on the left. Vixen's are on the right.

Tracking, nor the handset will work properly because of this when mounted.

Is there any way to 'trick' the mount into thinking the plate is on the right?

can't you just rotate the tube 180 deg so the plate is on the left?

Yes, but then I wouldn't have access to the 90 degree diagonal.

Get one of these brackets from Bill Vorce, Telescope Warehouse (image used with his permission), mount your Vixen's dovetail on it where the four holes are and your scope to the slot. Problem solved.
