I wonder how they verified this? Were there Guinness officials stationed at every site counting the number of telescopes setup?

Must be nice when an entire country has clear skies at the same time to be able to do this.

I wonder if it would be possible for the US to coordinate something similar and beat the record...

Iím surprised the cumulative magnification from all those scopes didnít shatter the Moon!

Almost 3,000 Mexicans have broken the Guinness world record for the number of people simultaneously looking through telescopes at the same location. In total, 2,978 people took part in 40 locations across the country.
