Comets Wild [Leo] and J2 Linear [UMa] new
      #5835928 - 05/02/13 10:07 AM Attachment (28 downloads)

Recorded faint comets 63P Wild [Leo] and C/2011 J2 Linear [UMa] last night - both currently ~m15.5.

Wild has a v.faint 1' diam circular coma and at the time of my pic seems to overlay a v. distant gxy gp shown on Sloan DSS [inset lower right]. C/2011 J2 Linear seems to have a tiny faint tail pointing SE

Talking to myself here but done a check on NED and Sloan DSS for the remote mag 17+ gxys behind Comet Wild above and they prove, via redshift z values, to be ~3 billion light year range - solar system to very deepspace in one brief shot !!!

Thanks for posting image and bringing my attention to this
fuzz ball. Got clear skies tonight so I'll give it a try.

Cheers

PJ
