Can I do something with the "Baader 2.6x GPC" in my refracter and the Mark V, becauce I read at the Baader instructions that it's specially designed for newtonian telescopes!

Thanks!

Baader GPC 2,6 is universal, so you can use it with any kind of scope, but difference between 2,6x and 1,25x & 1,7x is different position, and this position you can find on instructions and many posts on this forum.
It is reverse position, but there exists one trick: yo can use it in usuall position on MkV body if you unscrew GPCs metal ring which holds 2,6 lens, and reverse lens, and turn it back in GPC housing!

Do notice that the 2.6x GPC has an air-spaced lens and MAY be tricky to work with, if you choose to reverse it in the cell.

It does work splendidly well in refractors, BTW.

This is not true in my case, 2,6 GPC does not have air-spaced lens, so there is no fear of nothing, just turn over lens, and thats it!

Okay, this is news to me, first I've ever heard of a Baader 2.6x GPC with cemented lens.

Now, I know this will all sound very anal, but are you *sure* it's a 2.6x GPC unit, despite what it says on the cell? I once bought a 1.25x GPC that turned out to have a 1.7x GPC lens installed...

I just checked my own 2.6x GPC, bought last year, and it's definitely air-spaced.

Really yours air spaced?
Mine was 100% cemented, maybie was difference in year of production, I buy it 3 years ago from Teleskop Service in Germany, and reverse lens tat I can use it normally.
Very interesting, but I believe that there is no difference in opticall quality.
I can relate this with Baader Maxbrights binos, in past screws touch eyepiece barells directly, now they have comprehantion rings! I know, this is not about optics, but for sure some changes are made through years optically and mechanically.

Interesting, probably performance between air spaced and cemented does not exists, or is very subtile.

So how do you see the difference short of opening it up?

In mine you can see a thin plastic ring between the lenses, like in many small objective lenses. A comparison with the 1.25x GPC showed no such ring in this lens. It would probably also be possible to do a green laser scatter test, but I haven't tried that.

My GPC lens was cemented in one piece, it was easy to reverse lens, but even if you have air spaced lenses, it was probbly two pieces, just put it out, reverse, put it back!
