I should wax it but that's to much work. I have to finish washing the house first. This is actualy how this started. We removed 2 bushes from the front of the house.
After the bushes were gone I noticed how dirty the house was there. So I started washing it. Then the clean spot stuck out so I had to wash more. I got bored washing the house so I washed the OBS. My wife commented how nice the OBS looks now as she was loking at the rest of the house I have to wash I need a before picture so you can apperciate the difference.

Nice one - haven't cleaned my ali dome [avatar] since I built it ~18yrs ago and seems to be self cleaning via rain and I'm too busy using it to images DSOs

BTW where do you post your obsy obs eg visual or AP

Nytecam,
I guess I would have to classify it as AP since it almost all remotely used. The rub here I don't normally save the images I only view them on the computer display. The visual observing is done for the solar stuff as there and no cams currently connected to the solar scopes.

We get little rain in LA; so I wash mine every few months. First I spray diluted orange cleaner on it and then use hot water and a mop with an extension and lightly go over it so as not to scratch it. Then I rinse and when it's about dry, I spray it with tub and tile cleaner to get the mineral deposits from the sprinkler water off it. Can't say mine ever got gray. The Sirius observatories have a great finish on them.

Thanks Marcus - sounds good Did think about remote viewing indoors but still love sitting under my scope for the buzz of remote gxys images appearing magically on the laptop - here's a trio of ellipticals in M85/86/87 from the other night - even get to see the 'jet' [inset] that's near impossible to eyeball
