You didn't mention Comet Garradd near the Coathanger, but it stands out nicely, especially in the larger version. Beautiful image!

(I think I'll use this image as the excuse -- I mean, 'reason' -- to actually go ahead and buy a Pentax 6x7.) I miss film. And there are more comets coming!

That's looking great! I think I actually have some of that film, so I'll try it soon.

What a massive delight of dark nebulae - Barnard targets galore and star clouds. A dreamscape to get lost in. What a view that comet has as it soars thru this area. WIsh I could ride one.

Thanks guys. I edited the post to add Comet Garradd. I also edited the date, which was 2011, not 2012. I misread my notes !!

A really beautiful area. I like the subtle details that often get lost in overly contrasty images.I feel the brightness level is just right, giving that almost photo-visual appearance. This rendition may be lost on the casual observer, but not the deep sky enthusiast.

I'm most fortunate to have the dark skies to pull off images like this.

Thanks again.

Very well, Nightfly! The darkness of your sky is evident form the photo. Can you see the Barnard's E nebula by naked eye? I'm almost sure I could recently, but probably because I had seen this image a few hours before that.
