iAstroDroid: Automated astrophotography on Android
      #5849166 - 05/09/13 01:09 AM Attachment (34 downloads)

Yes. It is possible now This project is an extension of iAstroHub https://sourceforge.net/projects/iastrohub/ to run on Android devices. iAstroDroid can control the autoguider, CCD (qhy8L for now), and DSLR. You will connect to all devices via a usb host cable and a usb hub.

Basically, the package is running in Linux chroot in Android. A webbrowser is used to control all devices. Installation is as simple as this:
1. Download and copy one file (to be released soon).
2. Install one app
3. Run the app
4. Open a browser to control all devices. The interface is similar to iAstroHub.

Requirements:
1. Rooted android device
2. The android device must have a USB-host.
3. (optional) Kernel should support the usb host charging, and FTDI driver.

Tested on Nexus 7 with CM10.1 and Timur's usb host kernel. The following picture shows Nexus 7 connecting to a QHY6 while autoguiding.

Hello Anat and everybody,
This is a good new. But is it possible to have a server that drive the applications on a remote unit like RK808 or some mini PC, on which the cam and mount are connected, and which create an ad-hoc network?
So it would be possible to connect to the unit via wifi from any device windows, linux or android.
(VNC can be a solution, but it is really slow)

Then you should look at my another project
https://sourceforge.net/projects/iastrohub/
http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=5875159&...

Everything is connected to MK808 which also works as an access point.
