massachusetts, NE side - looking for spot
      #5849895 - 05/09/13 12:02 PM

Hey there everyone,
I'm looking for a dark spot to take pic's of the milky way when I'm up there at the end of July. Can anyone recommend a place to go. I will be towards the NE end Just North of Boston by Newburyport.

Thanks.

I don't think it's dark enough to get any kind of great milky way pictures. Halibut point might be about the darkest in that area.

Bradley Palmer state park maybe.

Lol, you aren't kidding. I just looked at clearsky and there is nothing around. Looks like need to travel to other side of the state.

Come out to Arunah Hill in the Berkshire foothills. Milky Way is very nice there. You will have to wait until the very end of July so the moon does not interfere. It is about 2.5 hours from Boston.
