Storage Case for Explore Scientific AR 152 new
      #5849830 - 05/09/13 11:20 AM

I recently purchased an Explore Scientific AR152 Refractor Scope & looking for a good (& durable) large storage case for this scope which is about 50" long. I know about Pelican cases, but are their any other large (& durable) cases that might work.

Have you asked Explore Scientific? Any scope I have purchased from them came with an excellent hard case. I have never purchased an AR series so do not know about them but I would assume Explore Scientific would have a case for the AR152 available as an option...

I bought one of these for my Celestron 6" refractor a few weeks ago. For some reason they just increased the price by 20 bucks but it's still cheaper than a JMI case.

The inside is just carpet. I'm going to try to line it with something a little better, but mine was well built.

The JMI case is basically a Tow Missile case. Maybe an army surplus store would have one. I called every place in the Chicago area and couldn't find one, but maybe you'd get lucky close to where you live.

Good luck,
Jim

You might want to look into Scope Guard cases
http://www.scopeguard.com/index.html

For soft cases I'd recommend: http://www.lightwareinc.com/site/index.cfm

Good luck!
