Northwest Star Party Plans? new
      #5834234 - 05/01/13 12:14 PM

Hi all! Looking for forum members who are going to either the Table Mountain Star Party in Washington or the Oregon Star Party? Unfortunately both are at the same time this year so I have to pick one. :-\

I'm going to OSP this year; time to try the 22" under some real dark skies! I'll be giving a talk; my wife (the new president of the Adler Planetarium) is also going and will be giving a talk there. :-)

Clear skies,
-- Shane

Yes Carol, but they have moved thier location to northern WA near Oroville on a working ranch called Eden Ranch, looks like a nice spot and not as hard to get to as Table can be. Here is the link: http://www.tmspa.com/

I'll be at Golden State and OSP.

I really like Table Mountain and attend any time I can, but when it's in conflict with OSP, I go to the latter. OSP has much better skies than the normal TMSP site (and more reliable weather).

This year, the temporary Table Mountain site should have better skies than the normal site. My only issue with it is that it's on private property with no early access. Since I like to set up for the entire week, including both weekends, it looks OSP is again my better option.
