I have been doing mostly looking at about anything up stairs. I have an Orion 10in newt on an Atlas mount and enjoy it. I am in the process of getting a Sky Watcher Pro 120ED doublet APO. I am interested in double stars. Is there a particular book or web site that explains getting started In double star observing and different technics ? Sounds like a real challenge and a lot of fun. Thanks Bill

Hi Bill - I'd suggest, for a starting-off book, James Mullaney's Double and Multiple Stars and How to Observe Them; for a guide to (most) of the brighter doubles, Sissy Haas's Double Stars for Small Telescopes; and an atlas, the Cambridge Double Star Atlas (excellent charts).
If you look at the fairly recent thread (next page in Double Stars on CN here), under "Double Stars... A Book?" you'll find multiple suggestions. But the three I'm listing in this note are all available and useful. I see them as the basic three.
