May 12th sun sketch
      #5855913 - 05/12/13 05:09 PM

Hi.

This morning that was really special. Back from work at 7:30am, there was a very large hole of blue sky between two large air mass. Forecast for the afternoon was not so promising so I decided to sketch. I thought I had plenty of time to do it so as usual I start by the surface details. So much sunspots and details. I was just finish, I look at the sky, woooooooaaaaaaaah... A lot of very dark clouds rolling in so quickly my friends. As none of my proms was done yet, I was doubting I would have time. So you never saw a guy sketching that fast. With all the possible precision, I sketch all the proms very very quickly rushed but the clouds. After a second checkup around the sun, I completed the last tiny prom and sun disappeared. OUF...

But something made me a bit late. Look the fantastic surprise I got passing slowly in front of the sun !!!

In the afternoon, I did this close up between the clouds and the conditions were so excellent. Very nice stability and great details. Unfortunately, too much clouds to make more.

Andre.

Thanks Bill.

When conditions a very calm, you can't imagine what is visible through this eyepiece. With a 60ş FOV and a 20mm eye refief, it's a very comfortable eyepiece perfect for that kind of observation. The sun look 3D in that eyepiece.

Andre.

Andre,
I've seen birds, and planes fly in front of the Sun, but never a weather balloon. That is pretty neat great and memorable sketch. Just showed it to Emma she really likes it. We saw some of the sunspots although not to the detail you captured. Nice work!

Ken

Ken.

I too saw lot of planes, birds and satellite at night but never I would have imagine seeing a balloon ! That was a very nice sight. I'm glad Emma like and appreciate.

If you look at the earth size, the balloon was really big... ahahahahaha

Andre.
