Virgo Fun with the Orion ST-80 - Even in High Wind new
      #5866825 - 05/17/13 10:40 AM Attachment (18 downloads)

Monday night was clear but WINDY! So windy I knew better than trying to image through the 10". So windy infact, that the tri-fold screen my wife gave me blew over, onto the mount...CRASH! Knocked my alignment off, had to start over, couldn't find my bunjees so just put the screen away.
Almost quit at that point, lol, but it was clear!
Orion ST-80, Canon XS piggybacked on Meade 10 riding on hypertuned EQ6 pro on an all wood Pier. (Yes even the pier plates are PT 2x6 scraps)
25 subs at 300 seconds
DSS and StarTools - No darks, No flats - Hence the really dark background to hide the noise.
M95, M96, M105, NGC3384, NGC3389

Yeah, some of those stars are showing some mean Chromatic aberration. It is spreading the light all over the place. Must be just the bright white ones though since so many of the stars really aren't showing it.

Seriously, very nice. I love salvaging really bad conditions and getting something.

I think they are artifacts that would go away with proper darks/flats. They don't jump out at you on my monitor, but are visible if I go looking for them.

Yep, they are artifacts resulting from me trying to process out the vignetting from no flats....I think...
