Tak FSQ85 - What extender can I use?
      #5875176 - 05/21/13 05:47 AM

I am looking into getting an extender for my FSQ85, but I am a little confused. I have seen a 1.5x specifically for the FSQ85 that appears to be discontinued. Then the 1.6x doesn't specifically mention that it is for the FSQ scope.

Can I use it for imaging and increase the focal length a little? And if so, is there spacing requirement in a similar way to the reducer?

None of the Takahashi extenders including: Extender-Q [original] Extender-Q- 2" and Extender-ED are all in production. any information to the contrary is wrong.

I would recommend the Extender-Ed for the FSQ-85

Additionally, the metal back distance for the Extender-Q 2" and Extender-ED are 117.5mm. We have a number of spacers to allow most DSLR's and CCD cameras to be used.

Thank you Art for the information. Where can I buy the Extender Q in Europe?

What part number is it - TEQ0001 or TSQ0106QE - Or neither of these?!

Good question... the part I thought was supposed to be (Takahashi 1.5x extender ED for FSQ-85, TSA and TOA) has in stock at TNR, and says 'discontinued' on the OPT web site... here is a link to the OPT page.

Here you go:

Takahashi Extender combination chart

Double circle: Optimized for visual
Single circle: Good for visual
Triangle: Not for visual
F: Good for imaging, 35mm full frame flat field
x: mechanically not usable
