Horn of the moon new
      #5799743 - 04/15/13 12:46 AM Attachment (37 downloads)

While sketching two craters the horn of the young monn came into my view. It was so striking! My wife enjoyed it too. I sketched inverse (black on white like deep sky) and inverted the image afterwards. I used my 6 inch Mak @ 180x, the image is mirror reversed.
The crater at the bottom is probable Peary.

Hello Uwe,

With telescope level magnifications it is always fun to look at the lunar horns in crescent phase to see which craters are visible.
This is a nice close in sketch.

Frank

New to sketching, how do you invert the original black on white to white on black? Do you redraw or do you use a computer program for conversion? Nice drawings!!!

I scan my sketches with IrfanView which makes it easy to invert them.

Nice sketch, Uwe. I too agree with the dramatic landscape that the Horns can present. Nice job mate!

Alex.
