One stupid question, about the clutch rotation new
      #5901822 - 06/04/13 01:29 PM

Hi,
I recently got a CPC1100 and am encounting an embarrassing problem.

I tried to tight the ALT clutch (on the arm) to set it up (nothing wrong here). However I tightened it too much and I cannot loose it now.

Here's the question. I forgot which direction should I go to loose it (You know, I am new to it), clockwise, or counter clockwise when I face to it?

Anybody can help? Thanks!

If it is really overtightened (happened to me a few times) just gently tap one of the gripper ridges in the right direction with a hammer . . . will loosen ut up with a coupple of taps.

I leave my scope outside under a telegizmos cover year round. Often when I need to loosen the clutch I need to tap it with a hammer. I might suggest tapping through a towel to help avoid scratching/cracking the clutch knob.

Good idea, but put a block of wood against the knob and hit the block instead so you don't damage the knob.
