S-Video too bright on Sony Triniton Monitor
      #5908397 - 06/07/13 05:20 PM

I use two monitors. A Speco and a Sony Triniton medical monitor. S-Video is fine on the Speco but on the Sony, its too bright. With composite video, the signal is not as bright. The Sony is a 14 inch model and I would like to somehow tone down the brightness. Are there any devices which can make the monitor overall darker? Or is there a device which will decrease the signal strength of the S-Video signal? I have read the Sony manual and I cannot make any further adjustments.
Jim

Its not glare that is the problem. However your post got me to thinking. A neutral density sheet would be just what I need. Thanks.

From the link:
" They are also equipped with an anti-glare coating, and provide increased contrast."

Yep, it certainly looks like they would work.

Try setting gamma to 1.

James,

Use the camera GAMMA and set it to 1.00. Lower the AGC in Manual mode of the camera. This will lower the image brightness for you monitor. If the Speco is then too low, just increase the brightness of the Speco to match the Sony one. The camera AGC plays a major role in the final image driving the monitor of you choice or capture device of your choice

Rock M.
