Observing Hoods are now available! new
      #5902405 - 06/04/13 06:57 PM

Hi all,

Two months ago at NEAF, we unveiled our newest product, the standalone Observing Hood. A month later we brought the Observing Hood to the Texas Star Party to the same acclaim that we received at NEAF. Well, I wanted to inform everybody that as of today, the Observing Hood is now available for purchase from our website.

The Observing Hood is the same sized hood that is on our vest. It comes with 3 snaps for adjustability. It will fit neck sizes from approximately 17-21 inches. The Observing Hood comes in 3 colors as well. Black, white and gray. And as in the Solar Vest, the white Observing Hood is double lined to help shade out the sun that much more.

The Hoods are available here for $34.99.

Get rid of that towel and get yourself an accessory that was actually made for the hobby you enjoy!

Thanks for looking!

I won the hooded vest you provided as a raffle prize at late weekend's Cherry Springs Star Party.

First: Thanks for supporting CSSP!

Wow! What a great product! I love it! Very comfortable, the hood *really* helps with observing, even at a 'grey zone' like CSSP, and the pockets were very helpful for eyepieces, glasses, etc.

Great to hear George! Congratulations!

We hope the vest improves all of your future observing sessions!

The solo hood is a great idea and my order went in yesterday.

Thanks,

Ron

I got (won) mine at BFSP last year. It's really nice! The hood really defines the difference between averted vision and averted imagination.

You should create a "Secret Handshake" to go along with that look.

My hood arrived today and it's exactly what I want. The vest was okay, but there are too many times during the year when it isn't comfortable for me. The hood gives me the coverage I need and I can stay comfortable.

Thanks,

Ron

The "Sisters and Brothers of the Solar System" secret handshake?

The vest I won is mostly netting, with a solid front for the pockets. I've not tried it yet in warm weather, but I think it will be OK. ....but let's face it, there are not too many shorts and t-shirts nights in the Northeast! I've seen it below 40 at night at Stellafane in August.
