Here is a shot taken from atop a spur-like outcrop in Ius Chasma (a portion of the Valles Marineris canyon system) near 9.5S, 77W, looking to the northwest just before Martian sunset. It was generated using Vistapro 4.0, and the surface relief exageration has been reduced to only 3x from the original 10x which is present in the regular Mars Global Surveyor Digital Elevation Map file.

Very nice!
It looks similar to Terragen work, but obviously a different program was used. Cool!

David,
An excellent image of the Ius Chasma section of Valles Marineris. I believe that future astronauts visiting this canyon will witness a similar sight. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
