Dave, as you can see from all the replies, this place is very likely to be a rip-off! Better to scour the CN classifieds, and S&S fora for deals, as well as Astrom*** (That-Site-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named!). Using these sources you will at least have half a chance at possibly getting a bargain on a decent scope without losing your shirt!

As I've posted before, there is absolutely nothing to be feared by mentioning Astromart. See! Astromart. I said it again. There are no rules - stated nor implied - regarding mentioning Astromart. It most definitely is not the "Site-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named!" I'll say it again: Astromart.

Now you've done it!!!!

You must now either go back and deliver unto them an shrubbery (cut down... using an herring...), or utter "The-Phrase-Which-Must-Not-Be-Uttered-Or-Spoken-Or-WHispered-Or-Mumbled" unto them (unto their ear(s)... either one will do... or all of their ears... collectively... emphasizing the capitalized letters in each word... dis-TINCT-ly) that they may then be so pain-ed, so distrac-ted, that they then forget (for an season) your having mentioned previously "That-Site-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named" that you may then escape (for an season) the consequences of having utter-ed so vile a thing as you did utter.

ASTROMART!!!

(Oh drat! Where in blazes did I put that herring?!)

Or ultra-high-powered laser range-finding sword sites. Hey, can we use those for telescopes?

Yea, but a big dob is a pretty heavy light saber handle.......now the ETX80 model light sabre is very easily weilded....it's pretty underpowered though, kneepads provide adequate protection from it......

Well I zoomed in with Google maps satellite image, and I think I can see a brand new Astro-Physics mount sitting on the clearance rack outside the building! Please wait while I mail them an envelope stuffed with $100 bills. I think they'll accept it in lieu of wire transfer.

Do you think this one would be OK as a starter AP scope for my light polluted suburb? Their price looks cheap enough, isn't it?

He visited the address in Jakarta listed on the site, and saw this: Gramedia Building (a Book Store).

So stay far, far away.

Many thanks for this confirmation in the field.
Thanks your friend or all potential byuers that will avoid from now this so-called vendor.

Note that when you order something, the page does not even swtich to a secure page. It is simply written in php !!!

According to IceinSpace forum, the owner of Sale Telescopes bank account is "Putra Jaya".

If there is a fraud, scam, for hundreds or thousands of $$, there must be a way to put him in trial, no ?

I found a $2000 chainsaw on Craigslist for 500. I responded and the "seller" referred me to a very looking official website where I checked and "ordered" (but not paid for)a 100 of these saws. It was obviously a complete and total scam complete with claimed BBB triple A rating!

If it is to good to be true AND does not match the market for availability of items you have to know it is a scam.
