Questar 3.5 bid on eBay new
      #5943685 - 06/27/13 07:32 PM

Wow, somebody just bid $10,100 on EBay for a 1968 Questar. I wonder if the fingers slipped on the keyboard. That's a lot of coin.

Terry

It's gone. Looks like it was removed.

I saw that too. 15 bids on it.

It was a fake listing with an off eBay method of purchase. When these are listed a number of people bid them up knowing the listing will be pulled. If you bid on these fakes eBay will send you a message when they remove it. You get credit for a bid in your eBay history file (makes you look good in number of bids placed).

Rich.

It is about a fake ebay listing that requested an off ebay payment method. This 1968 Q has been posted about 25 times on ebay. The last bid was $10,100 (the listor makes it clear that ebay bids will not be accepted). A number of people bid on these fake items to inflate their ebay bid numbers. When ebay removes the item (some times it takes 2 days) ebay sends you a notice the item was fake and is now removed and you don't have to pay for it. Just a group of people having fun with ebay.
