Rimae Sirsalis: the longest rille on the Moon new
      #5985496 - 07/23/13 04:35 AM Attachment (28 downloads)

Rimae Sirsalis is number 77 of the Lunar 100 (wich is listed from easy to difficult to see). With the Moon low in the sky but seeing cooperating it was just visible (without any detail) in my small telescope. In fact the rille runs another 200 km to the south, but this region was mostly still in the shadow (or it was to difficult to detect).

Very nice Jef,

These are one of my my favorite features. Didn't know about this one funny enough!! You have it some nice edged clarity. Good work.

Pete

Jef,

Love the sketch. A very long time back I did a sketch of this rille. You captured it much better than I did. It looks wonderful as do the craters.

Frank

Frank, I have a hard time to believe that!

Although mostly not very "beautiful" objects, I learned a lot about the Moon sketching the list.
