Nexstar 8" SE & Garmin Colorado 450 GPS question. new
      #5994746 - 07/28/13 01:22 PM

Another Newbie question. Is there anyway to use my Garmin Colorado 450 GPS to provide automatic alignment for the Celestron Nexstar Go-to? Is any specialized software required.

Thanks in advance
Karl

Your only chance is likely from this company.

The GPS units ONLY enter your location and time...

They DO NOT do a thing to align the scopes...

On older scopes the Celestron scopes prior to SkyAlign being used the GPS units also found North and leveled the OTA to get you to the "starting" line so you could start to align the scope ...

Personally today I value a GPS unit at no more then 10 bucks... only because it will usually enter my local time correctly

Thanks guys. Looks like the GPS is a non essential accessary. Not worth worrying about. It is not difficult entering time and location manually.

Once you get your location entered you only need to input time and date thereafter.
