M15 with my 80mm refractor
      #6012890 - 08/08/13 03:36 AM Attachment (45 downloads)

A few holes in de clouds last night made me wanna go outside and sketch some more. I didn't want to take a too difficult target, cause clouds were flying over constantly. First looked to some highlights of the night that are up right now; M31 with company, Double Cluster, M37, North-America Nebul. After that it was time to push the telescope to M15 and start sketching. Digitized in Photoshop.

Telescope used is an 80mm Refractor, with power from 16x - 40x

Thanks for watching,

Nice work. Always nice to see something in any size scope. I especially like the three small stars in the triangle.

luukieboy2,

Good stuff--you've captured the low power appearance of this glob nicely.

You might be interested in comparing your sketch to this low power widefield one (with an inch more aperture) I made of Comet C/2009 P1 (Garradd) passing close by M15.

I believe your drawing is mirror reversed so north is at ~1 o'clock and west at ~10 o'clock.

This is a very nice sketch of M-15 and sketching it off center adds a bit of additional interest.

Nice M-15, an often forgotten fall/late summer global cluster.

Beautiful! I really like an excellent sketch through smaller scopes.
