It finally cleared here last night and I wanted more practice time sketching globulars. I really find it much harder to do this kind of sketching with dim red light ( unlike lunar sketching where I can use a brighter light ). This was done using 8" Dob, 8.8 Meade Ultra Wide with a Baader Moon and Skyglow filter. I'm gonna keep on trying...So much of the work shown here is splendid.

Randolph,

A nice looking capture of M-15.
Is this a graphite pencil sketch that has been inverted (black/white)?

Frank

M15 under nice dark sky's has this blue grey color that's surprisingly vivid to me and it shows well in your sketch. Not that the stars are infact young hot blue ones, but my skotopic does that to it. M13, 92 - never but 15 repeatedly.

Pete

Yes this was graphite on sketch paper and then reversed. I've followed some of the tutorials on this site to help me do this. I used graphite dust from an HB pencil and blending stumps to gently apply the general shape of the cluster ( defocused the scope slightly to do this ) and then I used 2H and 4H pencils to do a stippling of the barely resolved stars. I used the HB pencil to do the field stars ( I did these first actually to try to "anchor" the cluster in the sketch ). I also see this cluster as "more blue" than M13 or M92 ( love that one ). Why might this be??
