PJ,
Great review Sir!
That is an interesting focus system - I have never seen one like that.

Nice write-up PJ.

I'm looking forward to seeing that scope in about two weeks at the Great Lakes Star Gaze.

Now, Scott, there's yet another reason for you to move up here.

T,
I'm trying, I promise!

You guys need more refractors up there anyway.

Some small minor corrections for the review

1, the sliding drawtube was made by the APM shop, not by our Artist Matthias

2, Mr. Hidaka runs his own business, as far as I know he he has not and have had never a business in Showa

PJ, it's nice to finally read a review of a Showa refractor. I've been curious about them for years. What kind of focuser arrangement did it originally have? Was it originally restricted to .965 eyepieces, or proprietary eyepieces?

Neat report, PJ!
I've heard of Showa scopes before, but never any APO refractors. They must be very rare birds!
Do you know what sort of SD glass the 100mm f/10 uses?
Where did you find this scope?!
Do you mind mentioning the price???

Congratulations on your Showa!!!
