Nova Del & Summer Triangle new

This is a sketch I already wanted to do for a long time. But the numbers of stars always prevented me to start. On holiday in France (under a dark sky) I finaly found the courange. And what a surprice: I got a Nova as surplus. Two for the price of one!

Very courageous, especially under such a dark sky. My compliments, Jef!

Thanks guys! Although I like the result very much, there could be made some progress next time: the weakest stars are to bright and the Milkyway is to granular.

Hi Jef,

This looks like a lot of work--I thought you were on holiday! I like the appearance of your widefield sketch and I am impressed with your determination. I was just out last night making an observation of the nova and taking in this view. Did you do this on white or black paper?

Here is a little feedback for your next attempt--I think the parallellogram of stars below Vega is a little too wide.

Jef,

A very fine sketch that includes the dark lane in the milky way with great texture. I like it and am glad you did this sketch and posted it here.

Frank

White paper with a normal pencil for the stars and gray pastel for the Milky Way. At home I touched every star with a fine liner.

I keep that in mind. But you must accept with wide field sketches like this that it's impossible to have all stars at the right place

Jef.

A such wide field must be very hard to do. Congratulation for the great effort.

Andre.
