So Rob, what do think a fair price range might be?

Well Mike..is the extent of the damage known...apart from the broken focuser? Is there any element damage...are the secondary elements misaligned? Knowing this can impact the price you are attempting to gain.

I'm not sure of the price of such a scope in good condition on the resale market...let alone a broken one with unknown damage. Cement is brutal and a further investigation to assess said damage might be in your interest.

My best answer.

Rob

Hey everyone. I just found out we are in part 7. I haven't been on in a while since life keeps getting in the way. I got my car running but, my truck needs a fuel pump before I can go on any long trips. It overheats (the fuel pump) if I get below 3/8 full in my gas tank. I would have tried to sneak out after work Saturday but, I don't want to risk it going completely out in the middle of eastern Washington. Maybe we'll be able to get lucky and have an October meet somewhere... Have fun everyone.

Mike, I'd ask William Optics about the repair costs for the scope and then look into the current selling price for your scope. That would give you a place to start.

That's so sad.....Jon used to come over and shoot his black powder guns....when he wasn't doing astronomy.

He was a great guy.

Rob

I will be there.

Thanks for alerting us to that, Tom. My mom's birthday but I'll make it work. Suppose I drop by your place and we go together? Let's consider the idea. Rob, you wanna come by my place & we'll go to Tom's together?

The last exchange got me looking at Robert's (stunning) image of M31 again and I now realize that yes, M110 is an elliptical, not spiral galaxy. Who was I discussing that with this past weekend? Ajay?

It's clear up in the mountains, it could be very dark anywhere up there tonight with fog in the lowlands.
