Thanks you guy's! I kind of like the simplicity of that picture!

Well it was a really nice time at Pixieland! I want to thank Mike for letting us use the place and Kerry for arranging it. I travelled light with DSLR's, LXD75 mount, AT65EDQ and a couple of camera lenses. Friday Night and Saturday Night were exceptional skies.

I had the chance to pay a visit to a very old friend down in Mosier Oregon on Sunday, and by the time I returned it was like a furnace. The wind came up (as it often does) so I lowered my tripod and parked my truck to block the wind. Was able to shoot some subs of NGC281, but after about an hour I started getting some haze. Switched to dark frames and went to sleep.

I got 4 objects imaged over the weekend(wich was quite a treat) and a bunch of terrestrial photos that I still need to look through. I'll post some of the better results later

I second Ram's assessment. Best sky ever on Saturday. Sunday night, there was a stiff breeze all night. I imaged a single target - the Crescent Nebula over two nights.

Got Luminance and Blue on Saturday. My Subaru provided enough cover to my somewhat squat Atlas that I got some good Red, Green and OIII data on Sunday.

The spacer rings for the field flattener worked really well. Round stars all over the field of view from now on!

The Moonrise this morning was breathtaking with some nice cloud formations and Orion still blazing. Robert tried to get a picture but his camera did not have a wide enough view (looking forward to your other pictures, Robert). I rather like terrestrial clouds but strictly during day time. Cloudy nights only at www.cloudynights.com .

Ajay

There has been come confusion, my friends are going to a star party near Goldendale, in a field, with a single honey bucket, this weekend; but, it's at Skyview Acres and organized by the Rose City Astronomers... The most confusing part is that the RCA have my name on their list of attendees. What's up with that, do I have a long lost twin?

I'm glad everyone had a good weekend! As usual, I'm fascinated by the images. Although I'm not really competent to express an opinion I'll say, "Very nice!"

My "plan," such as it is, is to head down that way Friday. This is dictated in part by the forecast in this morning's paper, which calls for showers during the week, followed by another nice weekend. I think I'll have the flexibility to stay Sunday night but I'll need to examine my work calendar to verify.

Brad, I think you've answered the eternal question, "How can you be in two places at once when you're not anywhere at all?"

I was in Redmond Oregon this weekend..and out by the OSP site....Dark skies for sure and hot. The OSP site is very dark..but in and around Redmond the skies are worse then they are at my place here outside Belfair. Man that area is growing up.....far more LP then when I was a kid.

Indeed it is and yet my place stays constant due to the land management act...which prevents anyone from building on less then 10 acres. Not to mention I have 57 acres of of trees belonging to a paving co. abutting me to the West and thousands of acres belonging to the local watershed to my North.

Thanks Ron And Tom!

Tom- I've been a fan of the basalt features since I was old enough to walk. The Moses Coulee, Dry Falls, Palouse Falls. The floods that carved the features, revealed so much geology as a side effect. A person could spend a lifetime trying to take it all in. The scale and scope is fantastic!
