Problems with Azimuth Motor- Advice Please
      #6095856 - 09/22/13 09:51 PM

I posted a video on youtube of the problem I am having in azimuth. Just started tonight after about 4 years of good use.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGKgAM-SWAw&feature=youtu.be

I first noticed the screeching sound. Movement continues for a second after I stop pressing controls- and the scope will not align now.

Any ideas on what part I should order?

Thanks for your help!

Brian

Try a factory reset first to see if it is a backlash setting.

If possible, try another HC to try and isolate it.

Same problem here on the ALT motor. If you remove the little black cap on the motor you will see a small disc and a red led. This red led controls the motor rate, and probalily is damaged.
