First light with resurfaced RV6 mirror
      #6108963 - 09/30/13 09:54 AM

Today I collimated my 40-year-old RV6 after sending the mirrors off for resurfacing. It was a clear night, so I took 'er for a spin. Big improvment! I saw a lot more of the peripheral nebulosity of M31 than I've seen before, and with averted vision I could see it resolving individual stars in M13. Generally brighter and with more contrast. I'm glad I finally screwed up the courage to do this and count on my ability to get the scope back together again afterwards.

Now I can't wait to line it up on some planets and see what it can do!
