Here's my AD8 conversion to EQ mounting sitting on an Atlas EQ-G at 'Ning's Observatory #3. Modifications include:

1)Protostar FlockBoard in the OTA and drawtube.
2)Suspended fan mounting
3)Rear mounted baffle to direct all the air from the fan up the tube.
4)Tube ring based rotating rings. (Thanks again AstroBaby!)
5)Telrad on a Scopestuff mounting rail with dovetail foot. RACI or Telrad, never both.
6)An additional dovetail shoe on the other side of the focuser to allow switching the RACI or Telrad to the other side when I rotate the focuser to the other side so I can still have the RACI/Telrad on top. Done as a work-around for those situations when the focuser is over the mount or a tripod leg making it difficult to place the observing chair.
7)MoonLite CR2, dual rate, shaft lock.
8)Primary springs replaced with ones from Bobs Knobs.
9)Secondary alignment screws replaced with ones from Bobs Knobs, allowing for toolless adjustment of the secondary.
10)AstroZap Light Shield.
11)Flock paper on the mirror clips
12)Slated to be removed for having no effect is a flocked annular mask, mounted to the mirror clips. This was done to mask the bevel edge of the primary as a check for TDE, of which there is apparently none.
13)Cedar carry handle bridging the tube rings.

Here's my 12.5 f/6 with a new 70mm finder, wheelbarrow handles, and recently upsized teflon bearings. 15 lbs per square inch really is about ideal--can you say "buttery smooth?"

This LB 8" is more of a "MUTT" than it is pimped.

You have done what I want to do with my 10 inch dob. I want to mount it on my dx and use it for imaging. At least I now know that it may be possible.

I too have recently been thinking about doing this with an LB10. I guess I would have to make a strap mount for it.

A night of monster mosquitoes. I just set it up with a dual saddle so I can use RACI side by side with the RDF. What a difference. The EQ5 handles the weight quite well. It's a very steady view.

I'm keeping this scope no-frills.

I'll get around to fixing the mirror so I'll have a sports car engine in a vw bug [72'] body.
