Nexstar 6 SE object list programming

Hi folks,

I've been ESTATIC about my Nexstsar 6SE. Its been primarily for moon a d planets and a few of the obvious brighter doubles in the database. Here's the thing though - I have a list of 22 doubles for my next night out and I want to have it programmed into the scope so I merely slew GOTO from one object to the next. I have no idea how to do this and the manuals missing. Can someone help me get started here with imputing the data in sequence for the scope to find it sequence?

Thanks in advance guys.

Pete

Use the NexTour program found within the NexRemote program that came with your mount. It will allow you to create custom tours. If you don't have it, here is the download...

Hi Pete:

If by "programmed into" you mean you want to store that information in the handset and use the scope all by itself - there's no way to do that. The handset is not programmable in that way. The only changes that can be made to the handset is through an update to the firmware, when provided by Celestron.

To use the scope in a manner similar to what you want to do, you'd have to use some software on a computer connected to the scope. As Stan suggests, Nexremote will do it. Astroplanner is another option.

You can download a manual here:
http://www.celestron.com/astronomy/celestron-nexstar-6se.html
Just select the "support" tab. There you will find this link to your manual.

You might want to learn about "Precise Goto." It will help to make hard-to-find objects end up much closer to the center of the field of view after a goto.
