M42 Orion Nebula Real-Time video thru IIE new
      #6126199 - 10/09/13 12:35 AM Attachment (33 downloads)

Finally stayed up late enough for a good capture of this nebula. The video shows slightly less contrast and detail than a naked eye view would show looking directly into the intensifier.
Equipment used: Gen 3 thin-film image intensifier, Mewlon 250 scope @ f9.2, 12nm H-alpha filter, Panasonic GH3 camera. Magnification is 90X. Location: Mount Pinos, Calif.

Great video, I think actually seeing this live right at the ii eyepiece is a sight that cant be captured on video.

Agreed, although the Panasonic GH3 does a good job of getting close to the live eyeball view.

That looks very detailed.

What scope did you use (aperture & f#)? Do you recall your exposure time?

Thanks.
