My wife just bought me a D 2 Google Play Tablet. But it only uses Android Apps. I have always been an Apple user. Does anyone know any good Android Apps and where to look for them. And do the manufacturers mAke both Apple and Android Apps. Thanks All and Clear Skies Mike

Android uses either Google Play, or Amazon apps. Stay with either or both for safety. Both Google and Amazon vet the apps for malware.

You would have to say what kind of apps. Most of the astronomy ones are mentioned here.

GetJar and 1Mobile market also will let you download apps for an android device...BUT if you stay with The play store or Amazon you will be much safer as noted by weezy...

To be honest I have an iPad as well as an iPhone BUT the tablet I use for astronomy is a Samsung Galaxy 7 inch Android mainly because of its size but also because I find the number of useful apps (for me) is much larger then the number of apps available from apple...

I like Sky Safari 3 but I have quite a few other Apps that compliment All The Best, Slainte of the others. What I'm trying to do is it busy find one good App that has it all ( Android ) I was looking at Sky Safari Pro. And maybe a couple that will compliment the Pro. And how are you feeling does everyone feel about Pocket Universe. Thanks All and Clear Skies Mike

Sky Safari Plus or Pro are the certainly at the top of the list. Mobile Observatory seems to compliment it nicely.

Pocket Universe for the Android doesn't seem to be an astronomy app..

+1 for Sky Safari pro - it is my favourite of the Android apps I have tried.
