Define "travel". Car transport? Airline carry-on?

If the former, you can buy a used Vixen Polaris GEM. Best GEM/alt-az for less than $150, and even includes slo-mo controls. There is no comparison. Save some weight by using it in alt-az mode and leaving the c/weigh at home.

Maybe you could find a used Vixen PortaMount. A distant second place to the Polaris.

Camera tripod and fluid-head from eBay will probably be the cheapest and most transportable, but not a patch on the above suggested mounts for astro.
