C-11 f/10 or with Lumicon Focal Reducer at f/6.5 new
      #6120255 - 10/06/13 09:33 AM

Good morning,

I have been switching from F/10 to F/6.5 and back and forth for film astrophotography. At vantage at F/10 is a 35% bigger image but a 2 hour exposure and a limited time window. Exposure at my site for F/6.5 is 90 minutes.

Any input or recommwndations? Is image size that much concern when posting images for the web only?

Please check out my website at www.darkstarimges.com for comparisions.

Thanks,

Tony Pilato

Welcome to CN Tony. Good to have you onboard! Looking forward to your contributions.

For those that do not know, Tony makes the longest exposure astrophotographs with film on the planet!

Jim,

Thanks for the kind words. I will definitely share my future work on this site. It was good to here from you! It is good to see that some of us "old APML's" are still committed to analog imaging. I will continue to use film until I take the long road to Xibalba!

Thanks,

Tony

It is good to see you on the forum. I hope members will take a few moments to check out your website to see your work, especially those long focal length exposures.

I'm in the middle of a dry spell right now, but hope to get back out there soon.

Again, great to have you aboard!

Jim
