I had a 9mm T1 smoothie, and while it showed a clear image across the field the kidney beaning drove me nuts. The 9mm ES 100 does not do this at all. Collector's item or not, if that happens the eyepiece goes bye bye.

Curious Markus I never found kidney beaning on the 9mm T1. A little bit on 11mm T1. My ES does not.

I wasn't overly impressed TBH. I much prefer my 14mm ES 100, as it gives me a HUGE IMMERSIVE VIEW and when people look through it I can hear the "Oohs and Ahhhs"... LOL!
I love my 14mm ES 100 !!!!

Cheers,

At that price, I have to think the 11mm T1 is primarily a collectors item. I think it is safe to say that without the 11mm T1 Nagler and it Nagler brothers and sisters there would be not Ethos's and no ES 100 degree eyepieces.

Kidney Beaning is an interesting phenomenon, it seems to happen to some people much more often than others. It essentially never happens to me. I think it has to do with differences in our eyes, optically and geometrically but I have no idea what those differences are???

Jon

Sorry, I am not Mr. Lowell.

but Mr. Gittins has played baseball in a MLB stadium, is a world class touring musician, helped get Steve Jobs started in Silicon Valley, owns the Missouri Music Hall and survived and won an attempted murder in 2008 plus a whole lot more minor pursuits you wouldn't be interested in.

So Jon, you've quoted me AGAIN, but missed what I said YET AGAIN.

Hey, that's just me though. Others will love to have the 11mm T1 for a collector set or alone, as back in the day these were breakthrough eyepieces and others followed suit.

I saw what you said. But my post was a response to something someone else said.

The part about the kidney beaning, that was in response to your post. I do find it interesting that some people experience kidney beaning with a given eyepiece and others don't.

Jon
