Nice work Kevin.

It's good to hear you like the new IVB.

The set screws must be tightened down on the IVB to prevent counter-rotation.

Additional visual backs can be added later for other scopes. Then you can simply switch the diagonal.

Ted

Thanks Ted,
Yeah I love this thing! It just works. That's the beauty of the design, so elegant. I'm expecting my power X Switch from UPS today but alas, rain for the next few days. Oh well, we all gotta pay our dues I guess! Lol

It would be nice if you could edit the review to describe your opinion and experience with the power switch.

I just received my power switch on Monday Oct 21 and so far the skies have been cloudy and rainy. When it clears up and I can get out to the OBS to try it out, I will be updating the review. I have already installed it on the IVB diagonal (which was SUPER easy) so I am ready to test it out when the heavens open back up to clear skies.

It had been foggy 9 consecutive days here in Northern Washington state close to Pacific Ocean.

Around 1 am this morning there was some hole in the sky.

I used TEC 140 with Denk Standard
binoviewer with Power X Switch Dielectric Diagonal #S2

I tried the moon with different magnification.

Even with hazy halo due to remaining fog, the stereo view of moon was beautiful.

It seemed that I was flying over the moon.

With this kind of bad seeing, binoviewing with nice refractor like TEC 140 work.

Next time I look forward to looking at Jupiter or Saturn through binoviewer.

I will also try C14 edge for binonviewing if the seeing is better.

Thomas

Just to update the situation, on Friday night while I was evaluating the Power X Switch my 15 year old Kendrick dew controller went up in smoke so I was dead in the water as the dew was both heavy and persistent. I have a new unit on order and it should arrive early this week. Once it gets here and I get everything hooked back up (and if the skies stay clear) I should be able to complete the review.

As I'm writing this post on my iPad 4 I'm looking at beautiful clear skies and am tempted to open up the OBS and go for it. If I do that I will not I believe get much time for the review/evaluation as I'm sure the dew will put me out of commission within a couple of hours.

Please stand by as I want to do a good job at this review.

Thanks for all the replies.

Just to let everyone know I have installed the Power X Switch on my IVB diagonal and am currently working on the steps it took to install it. I have also had a few nights with it but the seeing has been very bad so I am hesitant to really put anything in writing about the performance of the glass elements in the PXS.

According to the CSC, tomorrow night I'm supposed to get average to good seeing here in E KY, so.......

I submitted my continuation of the review of the Denkmeier 2" IVB Star Diagonal with Power X Switch on Friday December 20th 2013. Look for it to be posted soon.
