Are you sure that's not Santa, leaving it under the Christmas tree?

I started out with nearly the same one from Wards. Worked half the Summer to afford it.

Great Memories ! Reminds me of Mel and I during the early years of the Vega Observatory ! Our main scopes during that time were Jason Model # 311 60mm Constellations.

I miss my own beard. Had to trim it way back in order to wear a half-face respirator if I wanted to use the paint booths at the plant. I'm now reduced to a white goatee. Not Santa, more like Colonel Sanders.

I am going to take a wild guess and say it was a Christmas present and it was too cold to go outside?

Hi John!

I am doing well, my friend! How about with you. Shoot me a PM, so we don't get too far off topic. But, on topic, I have to post a photo of me with my 6" f/10 (if I have not already).

Take care, Mel

As Gary pointed out. Your photo truly reminds us of the days when we had our Jason 311 60/700 refractors. And it just so happens that it was in the same year, 1972! Awesome memories restored, Robert!

Thanks,

Mel

Yes the green Dynascope is absolutely the coolest looking scope.
I can't believe how perfect that color is for it.

Robert

Absolutely. And it goes great with guacamole.

That Vixen Saturn is a beautiful mount. I have the same mount with the Celestron C100E and it's a fantastic combination.
