Case for DSV-3 mount?
      #6167636 - 10/31/13 01:02 AM

I have a DSV-3 mount with DSC encoders coming my way and am wondering what people use for storing the mount head. I think the dimensions are different depending on whether DSCs are used. I've always had a preference for pelican cases, but am open to other suggestions.

Thanks!
Gabe

The mount came a few weeks ago, and had my first light with it a few nights ago. It works very well with the 120 EON. Thought I'd bump this post in case anyone has any advice with their DSV-3.

In case anyone else was wondering the same question I had, I found that the Pelican Storm IM2600 works very well for the mount with encoders. The main hurdle with this is the encoders stick out of the back of the mount a few inches. This particular case came with three layers of cube foam, which was perfect to give the right amount of depth for the mount and sky commander. All other pelican cases in this size typically include only two layers of foam, which could mean a bit of patchwork to get the encoders properly cushioned.

Nice looking setup! How long did it take from ordering the DSV3 to delivery?

I was quoted six weeks, but it took a bit longer than that - around 7 or 8 weeks. Worth the wait though as it's a fantastic mount!
