This is my first post to this forum after having gleaned what I could from the experience here. Much appreciated.

I've spent the past several weeks trying to learn what I could using "dry runs" during the day, including hardware and software set-ups. Last night, I put it all to use for the first time on the Double Cluster.

I've attached a URL for five, three-minute RAWs, cropped and pre-processed via Nebulosity. Considering the learning curve, I'm pleased with my first attempt but it isn't without problems, probably my fault for not double-checking everything.

The URL for the PHD graph looks good to me, but I'd appreciate confirmation of this and any suggestions. The star images are a bit oblong, but I found after the exposure that my CGEM head was not tightened properly after drift alignment and the FF may have been loose in the Feathertouch. I'm thinking that either or both of these induced mechanical flex.

Thanks to all for any and all answers and input.

I have the same scope without the FT focus or the FF. This is a great place to get started, so many people here also helped me. That's a great shot!

Keep it up!
Abraham

Nice image. personally I would brighten the background a tad to make sure it's not too dark and definately not black. You may also want to play a bit with the saturation of the colors to give some boost to the satar colors.

Good start!

Wouter.

Thanks, Wouter. Digital is the inverse of my old hypered Fuji 400 days. Now more time is spent processing.

I tweaked it a bit, and it does look better. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you. BTW, I've bookmarked your Pixinsight tutorial. I haven't touched my copy yet, so needed a "basic" to get started. I appreciate your efforts.
