NGC 1579 Not the most frequently imaged object! new
      #6191160 - 11/12/13 05:10 PM

Not a ton of images on this one, another tough one from a Red Zone but fun to do as the center is fairly bright. What I thought was LP at first turns out to be the faint nebulosity that surrounds this area starting to show up, so it's a bit noisy but I didn't want to try and eliminate it and drop the black point too much.

This was what I was chasing when I did my 10 minute M42 in between a Meridian flip!

Thanks for looking!

That's cause it's such a damn hard subject to image!

It is a great target - shot it last year. I like the subtle colors. Nice capture.

I tried to shoot this one last fall. Turns out it's a tough guy and it shot me instead.

Thanks Kfir!

I thought the same thing after my first session Ron! I'm glad I stuck with it and I plan to continue to go after the tougher ones. I'm really set on trying the Witchhead this winter which I know will be a REAL challenge!

Here is one from last year that shows the surrounding nebulosity you mentioned. Hope you like it.

Good work on a toughy!! it was a challenge in all aspects, where does the dust start and stop with this one? That is what I struggled with.

Thanks Jimmy! I didn't have to worry too much where the dust ended since it was mostly in the LP!
