ETX-70 rear cell question new
      #6225500 - 11/30/13 04:32 PM

I just picked up a used ETX-70 which I want to use as a wide field finder. I have lots of spare SCT type diagonals and what not, but the rear cell on the ETX-70 - the meade 64ST size threads do not fit anything I have in my spare parts box!! Any suggestions? I would like to have a widefield camera with a standard 1.25" nosepiece go into the rear of the ETX-70 ?!?! Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks
Al

You can buy the t-thread adapter then thread a t-thread to 1.25" adapter to it.

Sheesh... little adapters cost more than the ETX-70 OTA by a factor of 2!! Isn't it possible to find this in some hardware store or online? What is the exact diameter size of the rear cel for the ETX-70? and I would need a conversion to 2" for the typical SCT adapter right?

And you have to worry about back focus with the ETX 60-70-80

Jim from scopestuff emailed saying they would have the rear cell adapter in 45 days, but I think it will be for the ETX125 series which does not help me...

There are a few "Meade #64ST Digital SLR T-Adapters 35mm for ETX-70" on Ebay for around $20 with shipping.
