5th Mag Nova in Centaurus new

Sky & Tel reports that a 5th mag Nova has been spotted a short distance NW of beta Centaurus.

The southern Hemi always gets the good stuff. I'm having Hemi envy.

Yes we did but it occurred during S Arizona's monsoon season so I never had a chance to see it; mostly clear in the daylight hours and clouds during the night time.

Our local forecast for tonight is clear Ė albeit a bit windy (looks like we canít have everything Ė a nova and clear skies and no wind; Iíll take the wind). Itís been cloudy for days Ė and going to be cloudy for daysÖ how fortuitous is this clear night!! I canít wait.
