Hi Tim:

The gaps are pretty small. My shed guy did pretty well in that regard too. I'll live with it through a storm or two and see how it goes. We've only had a couple of inches so far and I saw no snow in there at all. But, of course, the real test is yet to come. No doubt there will be some driven snow penetration, especially where the tracks enter the building.

Also, my shed is pretty rough in there. I don't plan on gussying it up too much. I thought some Husky cabinets and a stainless steel bench from Home Depot would be good.

I'd sure like to get some electrical in there but the trenching season is over, I'll have to make do with an extension cord until spring.

Well, here we are! Winter, an unending winter it seemed at times, finally came to an end.

I
1/wired
2/ painted
3/ installed some cabinets, and . . .

I think I'm done!

"I'm done!" Not the whole project is done. I need a walkway and some landscaping. That is a contractor's job! I have one. We have agreed on price and what is to be done. Hopefully it will take place this summer.

But I have a functioning observatory that I am happy with. There were too many times when I wondered if it would really happen.

Final pics follow . . .

Terry, I've been following your thread from the beginning, and am so delighted you now have your observatory! I'm sure you will agree that it was well worth the build & time to what it is now. It's certainly a beauty, with lots of room that you will fill up very soon!

Now you will have to come up with a name for your new observatory!

Congratulations!

Hi all,

So great to see so many cool observatory pics out there!

Heres one of my setup, its too overcrowded so I'm building a dedicated solar observatory soon for my Lunt 152mm. The black floor tiles (rubber gym tile) heat up too much during the day.

Heres the link:

cheers

That really turned out looking good- and I personally approve of the robust construction!
