Geminid shower
      #6254204 - 12/15/13 10:53 AM Attachment (23 downloads)

From 4UT just after the moonset, I was observing one hour, looking around the Leo area.
I begin to sketch this sky region located +/- 45į from the radiant. We can see the Leo main stars and the red Mars underneath.
Each time a meteor was burning out I put its trace on my white paper with the estimated magnitude. Let says one minute after, because already years ago, I realized that sometime a meteor is followed shortly by another one, just on the same track, "a double meteor". This morning I saw 42 Geminids and 2 sporadicís, I donít sketch the sporadic meteor here. The speed was quite low and the magnitudes quite brilliant.
In a small village, autorities donít care about light pollution, ok then, I use this to sketch the Christmas street decoration like it was.

Michel,
A very striking scene. I like it quite a bit. The Christmas decorations add an interesting touch. Good work.

Ken
