Your first sun sketch in a while, but hopefully not your last. You used a lot of contrast in the colours which makes the whole quite dramatic indeed. Very well done, Jef!

Peter

Jef,
That is very beautiful. My wife ordered me the Lunt 35 for Christmas and should be in for the new year. If the sun looks as good as your sketch I am going to be excited. Very beautiful. Work.

Jef,

This drawing is very well managed. You are very clever.

Your drawing's similar to an old random drawing. This drawing is Mypaint program. Accordingly, similar techniques were used. I like that.

Jef

Very nice sketch work. You have captured many details in dramatic contrasting relief.

I was wondering what art medium you used here and what is the format size of the art paper.

Thanks again for any further info, and I look forward to seeing your next observations and sketch works.

You're a lucky guy! Hope to see a sketch one of the days here on CN.

The suncircle was 15 cm in diameter on a black paper. For the surface and the prominences I used a grey pastel pencil (Conté 1355 n°33). The bright regions (plages) were done with a light grey and white pastel pencil (Conté 1355 n°20 and 13). The darker regions (filaments) were done with drak grey pastel pencil (Conté 1355 n°42). The sunspots were marked with a Conté Pierre Noire 1710 HB. In fact I used my moonsketch material en technic.
After scanning I changed contrast a little bit and added a red color.

Impressive sketch! Next time I'm going to try to copy you're 3D impression.
