Fully and Partially Illuminated Field Calculations

A while ago I developed a set of calculations to determine the diameters of the fully illuminated and partially illuminated fields of view. Frequently the numbers I get diverge from ones quoted in this forum so I though I would post my methods for discussion.

Keep in mind that for a binoviewer, there are at least 2 points in the optical path where the light can be cutoff, the entrance and the exit, and the effects of the restriction is different at each point.

Here is the calculation for fully illuminated field diameter.

The parameter more relevant to the observer than the diameter of the circle where illumination falls to zero is the illumination at some particular radius from the field center.

And for BVs we have the complication of two restrictions to consider.
