Shoot, the wind just blew my helmet off... new
      #6326155 - 01/21/14 01:12 PM Attachment (18 downloads)

I have observed this interesting object before with my Orion XT8, but it was just a faint blob. Now I have a chance to see its color pretty image.

I was not brave enough to fiddle with my C11, which might be an excellent combo with my StarShoot Pro v2 @ F6.3. So I chickened out with XT8 @ F/6.

In about an hour or so, suddenly wind blew out of nowhere. My PVC light shield even weighted by 40 lbs of weight has no match with such gust. I was glad that I just came out to do the meridian flip. Otherwise, it might knock my computer down, which will be a disaster.

And this is the very first time I had the luxury to shoot Flat, Dark, and DarkFalt since I ended early. Those did help a lot on the vignetting.

Here is a quick peek of the continual effort.

Looks good, but maybe. a tad overstretched. Or it could just be my monitor.

Yes, this data is not complete. I would like to see what I got so far and hence was too greedy (clip the top end) before I saved it to jpeg...

Now I restore it back to what it was from ST.

You reminded me of a perfectly clear night last spring when I drove over an hour to my dark site, only to have the wind kick up out of nowhere. Thought I was safe setting up behind a row of bushes, but when it blew my laptop off the little table I use, I knew I had to pack up and go!

Nice job on the image, considering the wind!
